Directions to Two Pin Cottage

AIR CANADA has direct flights from both Boston and Newark to Halifax. One can rent a car at the Halifax International Airport (3 1/2 hour drive to Cape St. Mary).

(25 Minute drive) Yarmouth is the stepping stone to Nova Scotia for many American visitors. After you leave "CUSTOMS", go out of the gate and turn left onto Water Street and drive to the end (approx 10 blocks). There is a Golden Horse Statue in the middle of the road. Pull along side and turn LEFT onto ROUTE 1 (the Evangeline Trail). Alternatively, if you need to stop at a bank, foodstore, etc,... When you get to the gate at Customs, go up the hill one block and then LEFT onto Main Street (becomes Route 1). Continue on ROUTE 1 for about 20 minutes. When you reach the village of SALMON RIVER, you cross a high bridge with lovely views. A few miles beyond this there is a sign for "Pine Barrel Furnitue". Your next sign on the LEFT has signs for "The Cape View Motel" and "Cape View Resturant" and a one storey white "Quick Way Store". Turn LEFT, follow down along the beach to the end. At the "T" junction, TURN LEFT onto the Cape. On your RIGHT, look for a bright pink house on the top of the hill. Next to that house is "THE TWOPIN COTTAGE" with open front deckof green trim and a steep driveway, COTTAGE #422.

(Ferry Schedule from Saint John)
As You Leave Digby , Take Route # 1 Southbound . When you enter the Community of MAVILETTE (About 45 Minutes From Didgy) , Watch For a road on the right with the sign indicating Cape St. Mary. The Cottage (# 422) is on the right side of the road just past a very noticeable pink house.

Route 1 follows the Municipality of Clare, referred to as the Acadian Shore, passes through 12 French-speaking villages between Salmon River and St. Bernard all with a strong Francophone presence. The bilingual habitants are descendants of the first European settlers who came from France in the early 1600's. This is a region of handmade quilts, dry fish, long peaceful beaches, towering cliffs, picturesque bays and charming villages where fishing and boat building shape coastal life.
